Here is what you can do to help stop the inhumane treatment of the immigrants

How it got so awful was b/c trump, and people like Miller, decided to legally treat immigrants as CRIMINALS
because the criminal codes do not allow arrested parents to be locked up with their kids.
( separating children from their parents is a recognized ACT of genocide)

But kids being locked up with other kids is fine, apparently. Border Patrol is giving infants and toddlers to locked up kids, some as young as 8 ,who have been told to take care of the smaller ones. No diapers, no baby food, no laundry, kids have been in same clothes for weeks.
The law sez Border Patrol can only hold prisoners for....72 hours.. that's 3 days...but adults and children are telling lawyers they have been locked up, packed in overcrowded cells like sardines, no room to lie or sit down, with inadequate food, water, for weeks.


So here is how to help.

1. Donate to Raices, at https://www.raicestexas.org/ They are in Texas, working hard to protect the immigrants.

2. Donate to ACLU, which has really stepped up, filing lawsuits to stop these unconstitutional acts.

3. Contact your Congressperson, even if they are not Dems.
Leave voicemail, leave twitter mail, use Facebook, and tell your friends, etc to do same.
Reason is....trump supporting Repubs are beginning to get jumpy, with re-election coming up.
Congress member, state and national, DO pay attention to how many calls, etc they get on an issue.
their office keeps totals pro and con.

No use donating things, BP will not take them.

ICE raids are instruments of domestic terror.

During the raid times:
Reach out to the immigrant rights org in your city and check in to see what they are doing. Also churches, the good ones will be involved already.
Ask your Mayor and other elected reps to tell ICE they're not welcome in your town.
You can also protect your neighbor if you see ICE taking them away.

6. 88 universities are good places to protest this shit, like many issues

the GOP will freak out - their politicians rely heavily of those radio stations to sell their agenda and get reelected

the 88+ major universities that broadcast sports on more than 260 limbaugh stations are good places to protest almost anything trump and republican and they were instrumental selling the anti-immigration hate the last 20 years, since karl rove and co started using it to sell voter suppression legislation

they're using black athletes to sell advertising to pay for anti-immigrant hate, racism, anti-choice and planned parenthood attacks, global warming denial, attack iran, and so on.

the unis have no excuse not to reread their missions statements and start looking for apolitical alts to broadcast sports on. if they say they can't do that they need to be asked what they would do if the KKK bought those stations - because that's what happened, now it's limbaugh's kkk.

and artificial intelligence-enhanced transcription makes it easy for anyone anywhere to record any RW host or station, get it transcribed/digitized fast, such as at sonix.ai for $5/hr, and list advertisers with little listening required.

when the ad industry sees protests at those unis and a few examples of that kind of boycott action many agencies will be forced to stop bundling advertisers onto those stations, often not to their preference, and start asking advertisers if they really want to support trump, global warming denial, racism, immigrant hate, attack iran etc.

advertisers will desert all rw radio advertising. action like that will be seen as a major threat by the GOP and the many politicians that depend on those stations to give them local support in elections and sell their pro-corporate policies all year.

the true market demand for hate and lies and trump is a lot less than the 20-1 monopoly RW radio has enjoyed and many stations will be forced to go to alternative programming and maybe even try to offer balance.

it will destroy RW radio, the only unique advantage the cons have and the single most significant reason we're in this disaster. because the 'left' and democrats have ignored it they take that advantage for granted now. it is a sitting duck, an easy target now.

seeing the limbaughs and hannitys, the real power in the modern republicon party, finally on defense will freak the cons out and enable and encourage republican senators to vote against trump and mcconnel and push blue dog dems red states to go left.

if you want to do more than donate and vote that is an opportunity and frankly, that the progressive orgs and dem party haven't done anything to challenge talk radio continues to be the biggest political mistake in history

I have contacted all my friends, our Colorado officials, written to the Denver Post etc. None of our elected officials or police were notified and are furious about this inhumane terrorist action but do not seem to know what to do. Cheers for Illinois.

I am old now and been through many years of protests but we MUST try to save as many as we can of the 70 million refugees that have been forcibly displaced out of their countries by poverty, persecution, war, trafficking, and human rights violations. If the wealthiest and most privileged country in world history cannot stand strong for human rights there is no hope for the planet.
