Can we do something for the immigrant kids???

We see and hear things about the immigrant kids. Can we do anything for them? Can we donate stuff, like toothbrushes, deodorant, or blankets? Is there an organization that does this? I am willing to pitch in. I want the kids to know that many Americans are not mean people.

show up and surround one of the camps. Show up with food and water and bedding and hygiene products(I am guessing tampons are not being supplied). A million person march for kids.

We Americans need to do what those kids in Hong Kong are doing. If you’ve always thought you’d be one of those fighting against Hitler, now is the time to act! Now the question is, when do we go protest the border concentration camps while bringing necessities for the people the GOP have locked up?

2. I don't think they'd let them have them.

I’ve worried about that too. Hell, if we could donate I’m sure thousands of us happily would. But they are doing this for a reason. To be cruel. I’m so heartbroken over these stories. I wish people of influence would lead caravans of supplies and doctors and caring people and lots and lots of cameras to the doors and just be there, demanding and being refused again and again the right to see and help these little ones. I’d contribute. So many would. But they’re letting them suffer the same way they left bodies hung on crosses and in trees. As a display of power. It’s unbelievable. Or it was, once.

4. Will we have to take matters into our own hands?

I would send a truck loaded with stuff. I would also notify media outlets about it. Camera crews would also be invited to film it.

We need experienced organizers. I really think a lot of people would go, but it would need to be well organized.

10. There's a very large response on Twitter saying exactly the same.

I know tweets are cheap but I was impressed at responses to people like Joy Reid saying they were interested in supporting a large movement.

15. "people of influence"

That's what we need for starters. The media will cover them. Hell, they can buy the media some of them are so wealthy. George Clooney for starters. Barbra Streisand. Anyone who can garner the media's attention to head this up and then us little peons can march with them and demand we be heard. There are so many celebrities that could come together. Remember "We Are the World" in the 80's?

People like to be part of something big and historic. Look how quickly the massive marches were organized after his dismal inauguration? Many of us are suffering from Trump fatigue, including myself, but this latest is inhumane and involves innocent children.

6. The cruelty -- including regulations that prevent you from helping people in detention directly --

is the point. Some things you can do peripherally include:

Call (202) 532-4824 or email sarah.b.fabian@usdoj.gov.
Call, email or write your representatives.
Donate to RAICES, Otay Mesa Detention Resistance or any of a host of organizations that provide legal or humanitarian aid to migrants on the border.

and the "Million Moms" folks to ask:

When are they planning to visit?

What will they do about this?

Can they explain how they are pro-life, and OK with what is going on?

It's time to burn up the phones, text, call, and post the hell out of everything on social media.
