Whoa! Caller ID showed my own phone number, so I said, "Hello."
Kathleen, a computer voiced robocaller, told me that she was from Microsoft and that they would be disconnecting my license, effective immediately. I hung up.
It's rare to have my own number spoofed by a robocaller, but "Microsoft" apparently knows how to do that.

If I'm at my desk I turn on the scanner and have police calls going on in the background.

(146,317 posts)come in on it. I use a headset phone, so I can take notes on my keyboard. I don't give out my cell number to anyone, normally.
Anytime I'm accepting business calls, I'm at my desk. If I'm not at my desk, I don't answer that phone. If I am, I do. It's just one way to keep calls under control. Otherwise clients call me at inconvenient times. They get a voice mail prompt. I like to be in control of my time. I'm not a real estate agent.
