https://nypost.com/2019/06/21/iran-releases-first-photos-of-downed-us-drone/Iranian state TV on Friday released images of what the Islamic Republics Revolutionary Guard Corps says are pieces of the US drone it shot down 10 minutes after issuing a final warning.
The pictures purport to show fragments from the RQ-4A Global Hawk, which was shot down Thursday in what Iran claims was its territory. The US insists the unmanned drone was in international airspace.
Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the Revolutionary Guard air forces, said the last warning was issued at 3:55 a.m. local time Thursday and the drone was shot down at 4:05 a.m., according to CNN, which cited Irans Tasnim news agency.
Hajizadeh said some of the remnants were recovered from Iranian territorial waters near Kooh Mubarak.

(7,317 posts)Not a single news story I read mentioned that they issued a warning. That kind of changes things.

I don't trust them anymore than I do Trump.

(8,924 posts)My instincts are telling me that we wouldn't be in this situation if Hillary had won. But I can't help but wonder what we would do if an Iranian drone ventured into our air space?

(7,447 posts)I have no idea if we entered their airspace or not.
I have no idea who ordered the shootdown...higher levels or a low level guy who got nervous.
I have no idea who approved the flight path. Was it pilot error? A GPS glitch? An intentional act?
Could be anything, but what I do know is whatever the Iranians or the Administration tell us is probably not wholly truthful.

(5,914 posts)Then this would be a lot easier to figure out, wouldn't it?
There's a reason why "The Boy Who Cried Wolf", a story about an attention-seeking, prevaricating shepherd boy, is taught in elementary schools. Usually, we learn it in the first grade. It's supposed to teach us all a lesson, a lesson that Donald Trump clearly never learned.

(8,924 posts)And we don't know if our drone was in their air space, but it might have been, and if it was, then their actions were justifiable. Its one of the really bad things about having such a lying bile sack for a president. Nobody in the world trusts what we say anymore.
