LBJ - anti-labor anti civil rights elected senator in 1948 - worked across the aisle to

pass JFK's civil rights law, get medicare/medicaid and a slew of other progressive things. worked across the aisle with known haters (browbeated them into submission really)

... the military, and the military/industrial complex was lying to him and that the war in Vietnam was unwinnable and was looking to get out later LBJ realized the same thing and had a deal to get out but Nixon rat fucked the deal and kept the war going for 4+ more years only to agree to the same deal later.

What could have been.
