An insane president, a criminal senate, a rigged supreme court

And add to that, about 1/3 of American voters who love it this way.

The Republican Party has spent the past 30 to 40 years trying to corrupt the system and they have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.

Now they're worried they can't keep it. They're worried that too many people now "get it." But their modus operendi has always been the same. "If you can't win it, steal it."

There aren't enough people on this planet to reelect Donald Trump. But as the saying goes, "It's not those who cast the votes. It's those who count them." And far too many districts in America are controlled by Republicans who will make the votes for president (and the senate) come out the "right" way.

Huge majority votes matter and it's just possible we can win the presidency and the senate (and hold the house) in 2020. But don't for one instant forget that we are up against people who aren't playing by the rules we are playing by. They aren't playing by any rules at all except to win, no matter how.

American democracy is on the brink of failing right now. And if we don't win big, and win it all in 2020, the very concept of America is over.

And when/if we win it all, our system is badly in need of repair. The dangerous edge that America is now teetering on can never again be permitted to occur. And those who brought us here must be made to answer for it. If not, they'll be back with a vengeance four years hence.

2. Given the way the Supreme Court is stacked against us,

one can only hope that persistence is enough.

Even if we take back the presidency and the entire congress, the cancer with which the Republicans have stacked the Court will haunt America for many years to come.

And the reason is that we spent decades playing softball while they spent decades subverting democracy.

4. What you call "playing softball" is also known as following the rules

Which is what we're supposed to do, even when it's hard.

That's the difference between us and them.

I agree with you 100%.

The rules are set down in the Constitution. Yet, the Constitution wasn't meant to be a suicide pact. Looking at the past four or so decades, we've been fucked so badly that repair may take many decades if we can gain and keep power for that long.

8. So we should just ignore the rules when we think they don't work for us

9. In WWII, we bombed civilian populations

We bombed German cities night and day.

And as much as that sucked, would you rather the Nazis have won?

No one can have a clear conscience about that. But do you really want to live in a country today in which Republicans control everything? IMO, if this were to happen, there would be two classes of people: Wealthy Republican oligarchs; and the slaves who work for them.

6. The Kool-Aid drinkers can't be cured

But TV is becoming less influential as online social networks become more dominant. Unfortunately, many of these social networks are as bad, if not worse, than Fox.

We're in an era of change regarding human inter communications. And like most great eras of change (such as the industrial revolution) the outcomes will be both positive and negative.

At the moment, there's a lot of confusion out there (a byproduct of change). Some people are buying the shit being sold to them by Trump et. al. And others are fully aware that there are those trying to manipulate them.

One hopeful sign is that today's younger generation seems to understand it and aren't buying the sales pitches, the lies, or the total bullshit. Place your hope in that generation. Seems to me they're pretty damn smart and can smell corruption a mile away. And they are the future.

they just wont be able to hide it anymore when these "surprising upsets" happen this time.

the stuff that has already come out, and been hinted at, from last year are going to make it impossible to pretend it is anything but felonious aiding and abetting of foreign powers.

the machines will not be shielded from forensic examination this time.
and hopefully we all learned a lesson from the way stacy abrams handled having her seat stolen from her.
