Trump is bumping into a very low 2020 ceiling

45 is struggling to crack the mid-40s in polls. And it appears the only way he’ll overcome it is to pull the Democrats down with him — as he did in 2016.

President Trump launched his reelection campaign this week at an inauspicious time. A series of polls have shown him trailing in key states and nationally by as much as double digits. He even trails Democrats who are largely unknown to the broader American public.

To call him an underdog at this point is perhaps premature, but he certainly has his work cut out for him.

Here’s what we can say about what we’re seeing at this point.

His worst poll number ...

As I wrote Tuesday, the head-to-head polls are troubling enough for Trump, but the more troubling number might be this: the number of Americans who say they definitely won’t vote for him in 2020.

1. If they stick with Trump, they'll run an independent candidate to try to split

votes away from Democrats

The GOP are not stupid when it comes to retaining power. They're ruthless.

2. So his strategy has to be preventing Democrats and Independents from voting.

By spending a lot of money. Where? Hate ads? On Fox? Where? Will all channels allow his hate ads to air? The 40 and under folks I know don't watch any of that tv. It's youtube, Amazon, Netflix, etc. for them. They listen to spotify.

3. Trump is basically done of his Poll numbers don't rise....

As his UNFAVORABLES keep rising. Being in the low 40's to upper 30's will not result in a re-election.

Democrats have been given gifts to tie every Republican running for office with TRAITOR Trump. Using adjectives like Corrupt, Lying, etc., will have an affect on those Trump is trying to attract.

4. Expect another 911 type event just before the election.

5. That is also what I expect. I don't know if they have the balls to actually do it, though, since

they are so ham-handed that they might get caught quickly.

Higher turnout always favors Dems. Has been true since the 80's.
