Americas military budget is set to grow for a fifth consecutive year to near-historic highs in 2020, as lawmakers push increases in defense spending for next year despite opposition from some liberals in Congress and deficit hawks, the Washington Postreports.
The Trump administration has proposed $750 billion in defense spending as part of its budget request to Congress for next year, as well as steep cuts to domestic programs in health care and education.

(32,645 posts)... means more money to buy more stuff from the defense contractors. That would be the owners, shareholders and company executives, who surely donate extra dough to the Repukes' Party. Yeah, those are Chump's buddies.
It DOESN'T mean more money for the servicemen's salaries, the veterans and their families. It DOESN'T mean more for the VA, the hospitals or the medical services for veterans unless it's specifically provided in the budget.
