House Democrats Turn The Tables And Unload On Mitch McConnell

https://www.politicususa.com/2019/06/17/house-democrats-mitch-mcconnell.html

"SNIP.....

House Democrats are shifting their focus and making sure that the American people know that Mitch McConnell is blocking everything from healthcare to election security.

According to The Washington Post:

But the more visible push from top leaders has been to highlight McConnell’s blanket opposition to virtually every major bill the House has passed so far this year.

Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) in April started calling McConnell’s Senate a “legislative graveyard” and has worked behind the scenes since then to build a messaging strategy focused on McConnell’s intransigence.

….

“It’s going to be a drumbeat that’s going to continue for months on the things that people care about,” said Rep. Colin Allred (D-Tex.), one of the freshmen. “I think we’re actually going to ramp up the pressure on the Senate to act on these things that are so reasonable that they’re hard to oppose.”

Your whole post was a variant of the "no difference between the parties" stuff that has gotten us where we are now. The House can pass sensible legistlation, the Senate under McConnell and Trump can block or kill it.

Maybe people should pay attention to what is ACTUALLY happening instead of swallowing an inaccurate mantra, we could gain veto proof control of the House, control of the Senate and regain the Presidency in 2020. But I promise that if people go for the "no difference between parties" nonsense" and vote poorly or don't vote, we will only keep going backwards.

Enough of the talk...

From My Fair Lady (Selected Verses):

Words Words Words
I'm so sick of words
I get words all day through
First from him, now from you
Is that all you blighters can do

Sing me no song
Read me no rhyme
Don't waste my time
Show me

Never do I ever
want to hear another word
There isn't one
I haven't heard

Don't wait until
Wrinkles and lines
Pop out of my brow
Show me now

The back room bullshit people don't trust might have something to do with common donors; might not be true, but hey, they give us nothing better to go with but words.

If the words, "I love you" were enough to feed, clothe, shelter, educate and help children thrive, we wouldn't be having this parallel discussion in the political family. As they eventually get told by their kids when their words don't match their deeds or no deeds, parents gotta put up or shut up.

Self critique is what good politics does. It has nothing to do with disloyalty or undermining, but has everything to do with making the party morally and actively stronger; united in both constructive means and positive outcomes, even as we learn to live with some wide ranging differences.

The Democratic Party should buy billboard space.

Each ad or billboard should highlight one piece of legislation that McConnell has blocked in the Senate. The ads could be targeted at parts of the country where those particular laws were popular.

Just put the law or issue addressed on a tombstone and a picture of McConnell with his creepy smile and the "Grim Reaper" label. Very simple and very direct.

And I sent this suggestion to the DNC, so maybe it could happen.

Had to go to visit my ailing dad in Georgia this weekend. From WNC I have to pass through South Carolina, home of fully supported ass wipe Graham. There where multiple billboards for Tulsi. Why? She has no chance and is not at all progressive. Some see here as a Jill Stien disrupter. Very curious why SC is pushing her.

in replying to that post. Good on you for sending it to the DNC. I still believe it’s a great idea. We need to do to McConnell what the Rs did to the Clintons. Hit em hard, all day every day. The only difference is we can just use the truth.

and entertainment value in politics which is supposed to be plain vanilla public service. tRump has played this grotesque game of populism quiet well, although his days are numbered.

What exactly does it take these days to get an important point across to the American public from our Democrats? Do we need to start throwing live cows off the roof of the Capitol building, then hold a news conference over the still-warm carcass - - to talk about healthcare?

Wake up America; start reading, learning and playing an active part in our government.......

PS: Ditch Mitch 2020.

There is a huge story there about corruption and Russian influence. And if played right, they can open investigations which will expose them both. Given his abysmal poll numbers and a decent opponent, such action might finally oust him from the Senate.

Maybe Schumer is finally getting his act in gear perhaps inspired by Michael Bennet, senator from Colorado and presidential candidate who has pointed at McConnell and the Tea Party senators right from the start.
