Harvard University has revoked the admission of conservative pundit and Parkland shooting survivor Kyle Kashuv over racial slurs he made in messages that surfaced online last month.
Kashuv said on Monday that he doesnt know where he will go to college now, adding that he turned down huge scholarships at other schools in favor of the Ivy League titan.
The messages that cost him his Harvard admission came to light in May when a fellow Parkland student tweeted images of the racist messages Kashuv wrote while still a high-school student. In a shared Google Doc with classmates, Kashuv repeatedly wrote the word n---er, adding im really good at typing n---er ok. In another message, Kashuv called black student athletes n---erjocks.
The loss of his Harvard admission represents a new low for Kashuv, whose pro-gun stance had once earned him a White House meeting with President Trump, a string of Fox News appearances, and speaking roles at conservative conferences.

(102,342 posts)Geebus. It sounds like something that would have come from a school SHOOTER, not an otherwise "supposedly good" kid who survived a shooting and merely continued to promote NRA type policies against his pro-gun control classmates/fellow survivors.

I'd never heard of this kid but it's pretty clear he's almost at O'Keefe level.

(15,805 posts)Another young and stupid kid who believed himself invincible and beyond reproach. Shame on the adults who taught, exploited, encouraged and manipulated this wretched person. They have ruined his life.
Its unlikely any top school will be too eager to add an ignorant, gun loving, white power, racist to their student roster. He'd fit in at the now defunct Trump U, or maybe there's some profiteering conservative school, or one that caters to religious zealots will create a special niche for him.

(22,156 posts)Perhaps he'll come around 180 degrees but you wonder.
Being admitted is been a harrowing experience for some students as enrollments are through the roof and only so many new students can be allowed in.
He needs to apologize for his racist remarks, plain and simple, and be truthful in his apology. Good grief...

(2,343 posts)Sixteen is plenty old enough to know better, especially if you've got the supposed smarts to get into Harvard. Before this came out, Harvard knew about his advocating for the 2nd amendment, being outspokenly conservative, and commiserating with the dispicable Ben Shapiro. So, Harvard shouldnt have accepted his application to begin with.
Hopefully, he'll end up at a low-ranked public uni with a degree that gets him only a $60K job.
Few racists ever truly rehibilitate. To hell with him. No mercy!

Liberty University? BYU? Bob Jones U?
BYU is pretty good academically, but not nearly on the level of a top 25 school.
