Russia and spend to rest of his life there as a fugitive?

(6,709 posts)Switzerland sometimes does not--the crime has to be a crime in both countries. Tax evasion isn't one, probably money-laundering is (cough cough...but! appearances matter).

(6,709 posts)tRump's an (unwitting half-witted) asset, not a friend or ally. He thinks he's got something to gain from what he's doing ($$ and/or re-election).
Putin on the other hand simply wants to sow unrest and weaken the US. He also wants to be able to claim his hands are clean, even (especially) if everyone knows they are not.

So he will be living not much differently than today, but the country and world will be free to ignore his grifting, rants and threats, and tantrums.

(6,262 posts)However, a satellite to Russia like Slovenia (malaria's home) might suit. He could actually BE a dictator and with connections like he had with Manafort could mess with Europe and NATO to his pleasure.
And build golf courses.
Much depends on whether there is an extradition treaty with one of these satellites that he could turn into a principality (with Putin's permission, of course.)

(50,560 posts)...that Donald Trump owns an airliner. If he wants to flee the country, it's going to be damned hard to stop him.
The question is finding a country that is (1) within one tank of fuel's distance from Newark Liberty International, where his plane is; (2) willing to become an international pariah by accepting him and - most importantly - (3) free of any organized crime figures he owes money to. It will not do Trump a lick of good to land in Moscow, be taken outside the ring road and have a bullet put in his head within the hour.

(5,810 posts)I cant imagine that he would chance getting caught, indicted, tried and convicted. So it just seems plausible that he would have a serious plan in place to flee with key family members on a moments notice. Where? I havent a clue, but it isnt a stretch for me to believe he has thought of it and planned an escape route. He thinks he will never serve a day in prison. Naturally, he cant pull this off alone but he doesnt seem to have any trouble getting minions willing to do his bidding.

(10,279 posts)into a refuge, controlled by the Secret Service. He will be let out for medical services and to be honored by his base, e.g., the dedication of things with is name. Things that congress can't stop: county landfills, sewage pump stations, faith-based schools. Mostly silent participation by him, as his brain disease will make him so vulgar that even his base will not want to hear that garbage.

(18,486 posts)Not so much that he'd resign and be pardoned (which actually ended up happening, although the circumstances were different), but that he'd resign or be impeached and a degenerately crooked vice president would become president. As Rachel Maddow explained in her brilliant podcast, Bagman, Richardson moved heaven and Earth to get Agnew out of there before that could happen.
Good times.

Putin would kill him, just as soon as look at him. He will have outlived his purpose.
Meanwhile, he could be the "whiney little bitch" in exile, with his solid core base to lap up his every lie, basically continuing to fuck this country over, for the rest of his life.
THAT is why I want him to die in prison. Maybe he could have his own wing at Guantanamo. Then he could feel REALLY special.
