How can democrats stop the certification of the 2020 election in congress?

Benedict Donald Trump has let everyone know he's going to cheat to win America's 202 election ... that's a fact.

There's no reason not to believe what he's said seeing he did something very similar in 2016 by soliciting help from a foreign government then 5 hours later ... getting it.

If (knock on wood) Benedict Donald and the Russians effectively cheat in 2020 how can democrats keep the election from being certified as long as possible?!?!

This should turn ugly this time ... if Red Don wins America should not readily accept it on its face.

That's what we had in the governor's election here in Georgia, with the addition of much of it outrageously blatant and open with the whole world watching. All legal avenues to stop it failed, and the federal government would not step in. MN of course has a fair amount of Democratic control of government right now, so it'd presumably be difficult to carry off in one election.

Taking power through theft and other interference with elections is extremely typical of fascistic power seizures, though, and I'm assuming how to do it is being studied for every state and, where possible, laws adjusted and people put in position. And of course that, if any Republican was president or the wrong judicial appointees were in position, the federal government would not intervene.

Just a thought for the sort of thing we could be facing if they were to win. People who will put migrant children in cages and call for political opponents to be locked up will certainly put "other" troublesome American citizens in cages also.

Ordered new voting machines with a paper trail be put into use, the GOP control legislative branch said no to funding the new machines. The GOP wanted to give 100 million dollars to private and religious schools ( So money isn't the real issue) to which Wolf rightly said no. I guess cheating to win is what today GOP is all about!!

They do not want voting machines that can be audited. They want to steal votes to win and maintain control. That has to be done in the dark it can't be done in an open transparent auditable election.

...... protecting their system might mean continuing to see the buying of Supreme Court Justices, the suppressing of voter turn out, the gerrymandering the state to advantage a GOP takeover, as the way to win and maintain control.

The fact that Wisconsin was one of the three states that led to a Trump electoral college win, makes sense to us that live in the state and have watched the bending of election integrity laws to advantage the GOP.

Wisconsin was a prime choice for those who wanted to manipulate the 2016 election results. The election stealing machinery was already in place all it needed was the target.

A once progressive state was hijacked by right-wing billionaires with the help of corrupt GOP politicians in the state who could be bought to do the billionaires biddings. They built the machinery needed to steal elections.

Protecting that system would result in further corruption of the 2020 national election.

We can't sweep this treason and impeachment thing under the rug, America! Doing so would set a terrible precedent, and set a very, very low bar for the next Republican president. Anything would be acceptable. Donnie may be terrible at governing, but he's great at campaigning, and his political instincts are razor sharp. By kicking the can down the road to 2020, we are actually doing Donnie a big favor by making this just a political thing - or pretending that that's all it is - which plays right into Donnie's hands, since that's what he's been claiming all along - that it was just a political witch hunt against him which was taken up by disgruntled Democrats as sour grapes for losing the 2016 election.

But in any case, wouldn't the first practical question be which party controls the senate and house? If we get control, we could keep him from being sworn in even if he was elected by EC majority. If we lose the house and senate, they run the table and the nation, at least the red states with cooperative governments.
