(10,176 posts)candidates and the Democratic Party need strategies that deal with the biases and venality of the media. Just complaining about the 'corporate media' isn't enough.

(182,904 posts)They made Trump and gave him a ridiculous amount of free advertising. Compare Trump to Snuggies - they sold a hell of a lot of those simply from repetition of that corny commercial.

(14,176 posts)Why do they continue to use this model? To ensure eyes glued to the screen, and to ensure they will return, yes, but if they just held out that getting to the truth was the prime directive, and if, by their investigative branch found some ugly truths and confronted a Republican guest, and they stomped off vowing to never return, (and that goes for his colleagues as well!), so what?? Work with it. Embarrass them by putting up a cardboard image of an R spokesperson, and have debates anyways.
Or grab any old Trumpaholic to come on to fill in for the frightened snowflake R. Doesn't have to be a politician. An R celebrity. Even off the street. I'll bet there are plenty of cult followers that would jump at the chance to "put some libtard in their place". And then watch the hilarity. Even toughened up veteran R spokespersons have a hard time defending Trump and dancing around the questions, let alone someone who is untrained in the art of political double speak and diversion.
I'll bet Mitch and others would be scrambling to nix the boycott idea pretty fast.

(2,168 posts)Knew her in HS, but she, and Conway, are a bit off the mark on this one.
Most talking heads on MSNBC regularly talk about how unfit Trump is. The disgust in Trumps mental capacity (or lack of) is obvious.
Maybe the Conway household only is tuned into Fox opinion shows.
