Inflated Border Numbers

Since the news media started reporting record breaking numbers of people apprehended at the border I have been skeptical of the numbers. I thought the numbers were inflated by the Trump Administration in order to make the situation at the border seem worse than it is in reality. I thought the purpose of the inflation was to anger people in order to make them more willing to support border actions by the Trump Administration. Now that a supposed deal has been announced I wonder if this was all part of the plan. Will those high numbers, reported by the Trump Administration, now drop dramatically while Trump claims it was his threats of tariffs that brought about the reduction in border crossing attempts?

I wouldn't put anything past him. His weakness is his disconnect from reality. This won't win him reelection because people are more concerned about health care than immigration. He and the Republican Party have no credibility on health care.
