Trump's signature at top of D-Day proclamation raises eyebrows

Several world leaders commemorated the 75th anniversary of D-Day Thursday by signing a symbolic proclamation, but President Trump’s signature looked slightly different than those of other officials.

While every other political leader, including French President Emanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, signed their names at the bottom of the document, Trump chose to ink his signature in the top corner.

The move raised some eyebrows on social media.

A handwriting expert appearing on CNN said that "the size of the signature correlates with narcissism, with ego, with a grandiose sense of importance."

The document signifies world leaders’ “shared responsibility to ensure that the unimaginable horror of these years is never repeated.”

In less than five years, this endless shitstream will be almost totally forgotten by conservatives. It will be "Donald Who?" the same way it's now "Dubya Who?" For eight horrible years of misgovernance, Dubya screwed the U.S. in myriad ways, exploding deficit spending and miring us in two military occupations on the other side of the globe. At the time, the media presented a nearly seamless front of wall-to-wall coverage about Bush's manly essence and resolute leadership. Now, he couldn't make the lead in the news coverage if he got arrested for killing someone while driving drunk.

By 2024, the same amnesia will overcome the media, and bringing up things like this proclamation will be met with a bewildered look and "No, I don't remember that at ALL!"

Cult 45 will love this. It's a big flip-the-bird to our traditional allies & a boastful "We're number one!"

In past centuries if he hadn't destroyed all relationships with relatives, a big if, he might have been allowed to sleep in a shed with the goat for warmth. Or, he might have been pressed as a criminal on a ship or executed for theft and hung from a bridge as a warning to others.

Society has advanced beyond all belief since. Who then could possibly imagine our world?

I've created many far more impressive proclamations for local civic organizations, and I've always allowed more than sufficient space for the expected number of signatures.

Odd piece for such a notable occasion.
