human being and a President who received a raw deal and was a victim of circumstances despite his best efforts to do right by the American people. He has demonstrated integrity and selflessness in his post-Presidential years with his humanitarian endeavors. I consider him the best and most underrated President of my lifetime. I met him years ago at a book signing. I was holding my then toddler daughter. He looked up at her, touched her arm, and told me she was beautiful. A moment I'll never forget.

Brock Adams (with Carter's approval and support) ordered by 1984 all cars will be equiped with seatbelts. ( I think Carter had checked with the auto manufacturers to see what the earliest this could be done...but I do not know for sure) Also other safety devices on cars were mandated.. Crumple zones, back lite in the rear window, (it was proven that that light in the rear window is seen more quickly ) safer roads, etc. Furtheremore, there is proof positive that these safety belts (and harnesses eventually) saved thousands of lives. Google the link below, (you must put it in the search engine at the top of your screen. When you get to the site, look at the decrease of deaths on the highways due to safty devices added to cars from 1980 on. You will see an incredible 40 percent drop in deaths on the highways, and at the same time, 100,000,000 million more people in the United States....55,000 deaths down to 37,133 in 2017. Hit the link below..
...It is Carter's safety devices on cars that have done this. Oh, two more ideas: A. Carter does not brag about this, ever. He is not that kind of person..B. Do you know anyone who had their lives saved by the seat belts and air bags and other safety devices that were ordered..Carter started this, and he is the one to thank....Hit this link below, and check it out..........(put the following words. in your search engine, and it will take you to the numbers..look for the incredible decline after 1984) thanks again for reading this ...........link below:

Jimmy Carter was the best person among the Presidents I’ve known but not the best President.

I was quite young but Eisenhower was unlike any subsequent Republican President after...he taxed the Hell out of the Richie Riches. JFK might have been had he not been killed.

Easier to pick the worst we’re suffering through that now with that Orange Creep.

to trash Obama. What might he do next!

Draw mustaches on the pictures of Obama.

Put a new sign on the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office that reads: "Not Obama".

Spray paint over all the street signs that bear Obama's name.

Call Obama repeatedly and hangup when he answers.

Teach his chorus of terrified sychophants to chant: "We loves the Precious! We hates the nasty Obama!"

EVERY Dem president helped make Americans lives better. That's why we vastly outnumber them, bc we FELT it. It's only the right wing media and gop spin that tells us differently, and germinates the seeds of hate and division. Bc it's corporate owned, and that's their goal in life. SELF enrichment, not, ALL boats rising together, the PROMISE of America. The promise has been hijacked, re-branded and sold back to us.
The Kennedys were such inspiration. Carter just got steam rolled. The whole reagan making a deal w Iran thing, sure FEELS a lot like Flynn of today,
Bill Clinton pulling off that SURPLUS....literally unheard of in 8 years. And that was paying for a few of Poppy bushes unnecessary wars too. Bill got a raw raw deal. So did Al gore. I'm even more convinced today John Kerry probably won as well. Once you've ripped off the presidency and got away w it backed by the supreme court? Hey, skies the limit.
President Obama was pure redemption, after the stolen 2000 election and two wars OFF THE BOOKS, his steady hand and willingness to compromise just enough, made everyone (INCLUDING THEM) feel safe enough to enjoy the short shift we do in life on this planet.
This has hands down been the longest, ugliest three years of my entire life. Trump has given me physical 'features' I never dreamt I'd have bc of the guy in the WH. He's ILLIGETIMATE. ANy comparison made to him that somehow compares him to duly elected presidents is a farce on the nation. Then there's Hillaries robbery. And we, and she, just has to eat it right? The nation has gone kaboom under this russian imposter. He screams for confirmation everyday too, bc he knows he's a fraud.
See the Queen making her first dinner speech to trump. When she called him Mr President, the look on his face said it all. CONFIRMATION he was being accepted as the president of the United States. Should never have happened. Hope the Royals got whatever they needed from that, other than some guffaws on his stupid tuxedo, it has been another week of trump hell.

Oh, and we are not talking about a few lives saved with seat belts and the rest..Tens of thousands over 35 years from 84 until now. Check it out if you do not believe...The numbers tell the story, and again, Carter never brags or mentions this . Does he? Did you know this?

Carter is a true "class act" I forget this: Carter brokered a peace treaty between Israel and Egypt..Has there been a war between the two since then? Yes, incidents on the border..ok. (we have incidents with Mexico, don't we?)
.but war? No

However I have trouble with saying he's the "best President" of my lifetime due to the fact that most of his efforts were thwarted by the asshole Repukes. I'd rather say he COULD HAVE BEEN the best President of my lifetime, if he'd been allowed to do the stuff he set out to do. All it took was the tiniest amount of cooperation from McConnell and the Repukes. But noooooo! (angry John Belushi image inserted here.) In spite of all that, PBO did accomplish a lot in his 8 years and I wish we could give him more.

For that matter, Hillary Clinton could have been the best President of my lifetime ... but ... you know.

has changed many a heart in regards to what a government's role is. People expect more and better programs. Look at the percentages. That tanked the GOP in 2018. And he has funded research into mental health issues to the tune of at least a billioin and there is currently a renaissance in that field. I think Obama was transformational. Sure Trump won but that was a con that he would help people. Obama taught people to expect a government to help people. To see ahead. And people are wiser to Trump's con now.

Sure he had his flaws, but the economy and budget were doing so well, the press had to invent a phrase "irrational exuberance" to try to diminish his successes in the economic realm. Obama did well to get us out of a recession, but Clinton did better, IMO.
