https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/women/womanikin-cardiac-arrest-female-cpr-breasts-dummy-joan-a8943781.htmlAn advertising agency has created the first-ever attachment designed to convert a standard CPR dummy into a female version.
The product, which has been produced by New York-based creative agency JOAN, was designed following a recent study by Dr Audrey Blewer which found that women suffering from a cardiac arrest in public are 27 per cent less likely than men to receive CPR.
The research determined that this is because people are often unsure how to navigate administering CPR around a womans breasts.
As a result, JOAN has created a special attachment, called the WoManikin, for standard dummy models with the hopes of enabling trainees to become accustomed to performing CPR on bodies with breasts.

Despite the name, Resusci-Annie was decidedly androgynous.

OP
Annie definitely had a female face -- that of a dead woman pulled from the Seine.

(3,508 posts)1. What the hell are they taking about?
I have been CPR (professional level) for over 3 decades. For a long time, the only dummies used were female resus-Annie who had breast and a female face

The innovation with this model, as I understand it, is the soft breasts.

(6,240 posts)2. I took a CPR class several times over the years, and
I remember her being female. I just took a look at the video, and it seems like what they're offering is just a padded bra.
Incidentally, none of the times I took a class did anyone show any problems. A snicker now and then, sure (and interestingly, mostly from the women in the class), but nothing more.

I do remember my instructor telling us that in real life women have larger breasts and when you need to access the chest under a breast you move the breast with the back of a gloved hand.
