Such a display is somewhat in style for trim young men, but never for a President. The coat should only show a narrow band of the white waistcoat, not a belly cover of it.

I can't imagine feeling OK going out in public dressed like that. If you look around in photos of other men at that function, you'll not see any similar large display of white below the coat.
