Imagine Al Capone is elected President through illegal means. Then, he appoints a mob lawyer who says you can't investigate Capone or the mob.
Then Capone's mob lawyer prosecutes Elliot Ness.
That's about where we are.

(3,243 posts)What's the latest on the bogus investigation of the investigation? I'm wondering if it won't just fizzle out, since any investigation into how a foreign power interfered with our election is a good thing, and the only people that don't think so are wingnuts and toadies to a guy named Trump.
It's my opinion, but unless something is totally out of line, I don't think an honest investigation into the investigation would go well for Trump and Barr. That is assuming it would be "honest". Does anyone think they are really all that interested in shaking out any more information from this whole thing? I'm thinking it could backfire and open up all the reasons why it wasn't a witch hunt after all.
My guess, and I could be wrong, is that it will become like Trump's health care plan, if you vote for him in 2020 he'll go after the "deep state". A certain portion of his base will eat it up.

It's a global trend in bad governance - and in every case backed by big business interests.
