In other news, there has been talk for years now that a small recession would come sometime between 2020 and 2025, due to the natural dynamics of economies.
In 2018 I saw two interviews with economic experts, one far-left and one ultra-capitalist, who both agreed that Trump will make that recession come earlier and will make it worse.
Trump's 2019 trade-wars have lead to a high probability that such a recession will happen as early as 2020 (or maybe even 2019) and would be more severe than expected.



It's only a matter of time until Trump promises that only he can save the economy from the recession he has caused... if you reelect him in 2020.

18. About 2-3 Weeks Ago

A revision was made in the expected GDP growth for our current quarter and it is now a measly 1% based on a big slowdown in manufacturing due to high inventory - the most common cause for recessions. They also said that current conditions point to a downward revision in 1st quarter GDP growth. GDP for 2019 is now looking to be the weakest since 2009 (my forecast).

Keep in mind too that the announcement of tariff's came months before they went into effect allowing for a rush of activity before they go into effect. That is one of the sources for high current inventories. And the tariffs with Mexico are slated to go into effect this coming weekend - just in time to juice the slowdown.
