Meghan McCain, the daughter of late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), on Wednesday denounced President Trump as a "child" who will always be "deeply threatened" by her father, following a report that the White House wanted the USS John McCain "out of sight" during the president's visit to Japan.

Her comments came just moments after The Wall Street Journal reported that the Trump administration asked the U.S. Navy to make sure a warship named after John McCain would be "out of sight" for Trump's recent visit to Japan.

“USS John McCain needs to be out of sight,” an email outlining the president's plans for the trip read, the Journal reported.
The newspaper noted that officials, including acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan, approved measures so the ship would not be visible during Trump's trip.
