I will grant you that there may be some republicans who see the Rump as an existential threat to their traditional values; however, I just can't trust them anymore. It could be a ploy to get him exonerated by the Senate. I just don't know, so I'm going to trust Pelosi.

That would allow open hearings, with Americans able to see and hear the evidence.

And that might drive the numbers higher in support of impeachment among the public and Congress.
