(16,084 posts)Since a flood is a natural disaster, then that would fall under an act of God, and most insurance won't cover that!

If by popular they mean a "boat shaped building" that has never met any of it's projections of attendance and has done fuck all for the local economy, then I guess it's popular.

(82,849 posts)This lawsuit is over damages to their access road caused by heavy rain two years ago and last year (from my reading of the excerpt). Who's responsible for that access road? As I recall, The Ark Encounter was subsidized rather handsomely by the Kentucky Legislature with taxpayer funds. Did the public spigot get shut off? According to the excerpt, Ark Encounter is seeking punitive damages as well as compensatory damage. Would Jesus seek punitive damages, or would He settle for just being made whole? Punitive damages wouldn't seem to square with most readings of the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew) or the Sermon on the Plain (Luke).

(63,221 posts)Should't God be responsible for this? I thought they were supposed to be able to endure a flood. Wasn't that the point?
I think they should pray about it. Maybe that will help.

If it's any consolation, I don't recall reading that insurance covered any of the damage to the original, either.
