I had a serious thought this morning

as I was sitting on the can.

After this idiot and his minions are finally removed/retired/exiled, whatever it takes, we need to erect a statue of P T Barnum next to the Statue of Liberty, of equal height, and inscribe his famous line, “There’s a sucker born every minute.”

Truer words never spoken. They eclipse the poetic sentiments on Lady Liberty and reflect the truth of the matter and thus, of Humanity. And the worst part, the WORST part is that it will happen again without doubt. You know how you know this? Because even liberals were suggesting celebrities including, but not limited to Oprah Winfrey for President. It’s all just so insane.

Very scary thought.
It reminds me of the book "It Can't Happen Here" that was written in 1935, except it did happen here...(photo of actual book jacket)

On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

(O.K., he spelled moran wrong, but give him the statue anyway.)

People trusted Walter Cronkite and wanted him for president.

He wisely rejected the idea.

He knew he was not qualified.

I don't suspect so, no. Whether he's impeached or voted out; he will cry foul, rally his loyalists. And America will fight its 2nd Civil War.

There's always cardiac arrest, but that's not something to count on.

15. Actually, "cardiac arrest" is about the only thing that can be counted on.

Everyone at some point goes into cardiac arrest. Now, in this case, it's just a matter of a very reliable cause.

"We’re going to have a second [term], and then we’re going to have another one. We’ll drive them crazy. And maybe if we really like it a lot, and if things keep going like they are going, we’ll go and we’ll do what we have to do, and a three [terms] and a four, and a five.”

Awhile back, I suggested removing the Statue of Liberty due to it being at this point a broken (Hey, here we are using "broke" when talking about the Orange Rind Reich again.) promise and an attractive nuisance to those who are seeking asylum and a better life.

So, something needs to be done.
