House GOP: Forcing rape victims to give birth is better for them 'psychologically'

Republicans in Alabama just passed a law that would force rape victims to give birth — and Republicans in Congress plan to defend that law with the sickening claim that it's better for victims both "physically" and "psychologically" if they are forced to bear their rapist's child.

Vice News on Thursday reported that a large group of House Republicans are circulating talking points to defend the draconian anti-abortion law Alabama just passed, which would criminalize abortion in all instances and subject any doctor who performed the medical procedure to up to 99 years in prison.

“Committing a second violent act with abortion to a woman who has already been victimized by an act of rape or incest could physically or psychologically wound her further,” the document states. “Every single child should be afforded the opportunity to live, regardless of how they were conceived.” - ShareBlue

There you have it, the difference between voting for a democrat and having the right not to carry your rapists spawn to birth or choosing republican law makers, who say you don't have the right after you've been forcefully raped.

Didn't know I was capable of this much hatred. I despise what is happening, not only our nation, but to my psyche.

What decent person, let alone how could any woman tell another woman who has been forcefully raped that it is some sort of gift.

These assholes have no shame nor do they care. They want people to believe life is precious but only in the womb, afterwards screw you unless you are rich of course. Apparently they are ok with rape and incest - giving troubled people the greenlight.

These people are sick, how sad.

7. Mistaking a potentially fertilized egg for a child? Not even an embryo or a fetus is a child!

Of course, no one would argue that a CHILD should not be afforded the opportunity to live (including those mistreated at our borders!)...but with abortion and reproductive healthcare nobody is talking about children.

This talking point can be easily dealt with.

Republicans are liars and con men. There are doctors in the Republican party. They fully understand the difference between embryos, fetuses, and viable babies. They deliberately use false language to lie and stir up their idiotic base.

you get to have an opinion about what the better physical and psychological option is. For you.

Until then, keep your creepy pro-rapist laws away from women and other humans.

absolute ban, backed up by a 7-2 or 8-1 HARD RW SCOTUS if Rump wins in 2020 and we fail at reclaiming the Senate in 2020 and 2022.

If they succeed, I predict the break up of the nation within 5 to 10 years post-outlawing. Why would very blue states submit to a radical theocratic tyranny? I do not think this is hyperbole ate all, if that scenario played out. The RW-led feds would try and enforce it at gunpoint. They certainly can dig a couple million thugs to try and go for it.
