TERI KANEFIELD THREAD TODAY RE IMPEACHMENT - UC Berkeley law prof -

if you aren't following her you are really missing out!

Please consider her view on the timing of impeachment V. hearings / investigation. She says trumpf wants to get it on so he can say he was exonerated when Senate acquits - in time for 2020!

Dragging it out better for Dems. I AGREE! Even though I'm SO FRUSTRATED. BUT - inquiry can begin, building case leading to impeachment. Best strategy IMHO.

both aren't mutually exclusive. Impeachment can go on a long time. See Hillarys Benghazi, and Emails. Grrrrrr.
I understand her point, but, there's a shit ton of other Ds that say "Impeach now." And respectfully, they should be heard too. JMHO.
PS...Impeachment isn't the circus or 'crisis', he needs to be a russian 5th columnist. He already is. He does this everyday, regardless. Let's not make impeachment the reason he's a maniac?

She agrees with you - says it's important for the "impeach now" contingent to keep up the pressure!

I agree, also!

I think there's a bit of a "good cop / bad cop" dynamic going on here... happier today than I've been for awhile!

but Trump has got to be on the ledge. I wonder about the Republicans in the various committees. I remember the Republicans having meetings and not inviting the Democrats, can Democrats shield their work from evil eyes?

Like Watergate, once the various people start to testify about all the actions of Trump, the Russian contacts, etc., I really have to wonder after all the TV exposure - if after the House votes for impeachment, whether the Senate will be able to exonerate Trump.

The Senate GOP may worry about their primaries, but ultimately they also have to worry about how the public in total (not their selected voters) will view this administration. I think, regardless of what is happening now, that Trump will be removed (or resign). I also believe that a lot of people around this administration are going to jail.

And my ultimate dream - that Trump and his family members also will end up in jail.
