(32,706 posts)... than any other kind of ballot. Some of us on DU have been advocating paper ballots for all, but that doesn't fix the absentee ballots problem. When party members "collect" the absentee ballots (as a community service for shut-ins) they are occasionally destroying them, or altering them before turning them in. And wouldn't you just know it, most of the fraud happens in areas that are controlled by the Republican Party!
I don't know what the solution is, maybe guaranteeing postage both ways and telling voters that their ballot will only be accepted through the US Postal Service?

(31,261 posts)Fortunately large numbers of their voters love early voting.
Unless a person lives in a blue state, in person early voting is the way to go if the state has it, if not, get it in acted through petition or through democratic reps. If a person lives in a blue state, all forms of voting are honored.

(32,706 posts)I'm in Pennsylvania where we don't have early voting, and absentee ballots are hard to come by.

(31,261 posts)if your state's constitution allows for citizen petitions to enact new laws (we have that in Florida, there has been some rough edges, but it works well overall, we legalized medical POT, outlawed dog racing, gave ex-cons that have honorably done their time and stayed out of trouble the right to vote).
