Remember "outrage"? For those who have not encountered this term or for whom
the experience of outrage is shrouded in the mists of ancient memory, "outrage" means "an extremely strong reaction of anger, shock or indignation". Synonyms include indignation, fury, anger, rage, resentment, horror and disgust.
So---is it coming back? Is any of that striking a chord? Here's another way of asking this: when is the last time you allowed yourself to get ROYALLY PISSED OFF?
I understand that it is possible to become so exhausted by maintaining a constant state of outrage that you just have to let some of it go. We are wired to become outraged by most of what Trump has inflicted upon us, but the problem is that we are also wired to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! The usual way of describing this "do something" instinct is "fight or flight". We reject flight and we are not allowed to fight, so---we find a heavy bag to punch or some wood to split or some trails to run while we put our mind in neutral.
But, then we come back and pick up the gauntlet and, yes, let outrage propel us to find some way---some day--- to, oh yeah, DO something!
