But no, Bob Mueller had to let the Republicans and the Russians win. Fuck him.

(42,770 posts)Barr probably ordered him to not reach a conclusion though? My thought is that he was told to STOP. And, Mueller, chain of command type, stopped.
If Barr and Trump "allow" Mueller to testify, I bet he will not have any bombshells, for sure. Think Junior will be there full steam ahead, propping up his dad and saying "enough is enough". Of course I almost agree with that - get off the pot and impeach based on Mueller obstruction findings.
Why do you think he didn't reach a conclusion - with recommended charges? Just because he's a repuke at heart?
Just had a flash - Mueller may be physically tied up in a warehouse somewhere.

(108,979 posts)which could well be more than half of his job -- and counter-intelligence findings usually must remain secret.
Somewhere, a long time ago, I read an analysis that said we might only ever see the tip of the iceberg of what they found, because of the secrecy of counter-intelligence work. But the House and Senate intelligence committees should be able to see everything. That's what's so unusual now -- to have the Trump administration withholding counter-intelligence findings from the Gang of Eight and the Intelligence Committees.

(32,610 posts)Mueller actually is/was involved in a counter-intelligence investigation. Rachel said such tonight and Adam Schiff doesn't know if there is/was one.
My guess is that Rod Rosenstein deep-sixed it.

(17,622 posts)..i think we all put a lot of our own unrealistic hopes into what Mueller as gonna produce. He did 100% what he was supposed to do and then he handed it off to the next phase..which we are in now.

(42,770 posts)Mueller's probably thinking about that, working on that..." Came across an old article and there was SO much in there (probably on the list of collusion and obstruction stuff Mueller looking at). JHC he hired the BEST group of prosecutors in the business. Must be why they are hinting - it's all a bunch of bullshit.

At one point, Judge Sullivan asked the prosecutor whether the special counsel's office had ever considered charging Flynn with treason.
The judge told Flynn: "Arguably, you sold your country out."
Judge Sullivan also said he "can't hide my disgust, my disdain" for the offence....

(4,575 posts)My question is why did the Mueller team decide to declassify this now? They're DOJ right? Surely Barr knew this was coming? That's the missing piece of the puzzle. Flynn is definitely the biggest fish in this whole witness pond and yet I feel like I've heard precious little from him.

(13,524 posts)tastiest fish in this whole scummy pond!!!
When I saw today that some kind of Flynn documents had been unsealed, I said, meh, this guy, we never hear SHIT about him, nothing, zip, ever

(4,575 posts)that this tasty tidbit came from the "less redacted" Mueller Report. The Dems won't read it on principle but five Republicans have including Senator Burr from NC. The same one who called Jr. to testify. Check this out:

(4,575 posts)Seriously though, I didn't even know Barr had made a less redacted version of the report available. I took last weekend off from this topic because I needed a break. But good on the Dems for not falling for that just the tip bullshit. Sorry, Barr brings out the vulgar in me.
