The media keeps saying Trump is stalling till...

...the 2020 election, trying to hold up subpoenas and testimony of key witnesses; But I don't think that's it. He's waiting for the next budget fight which is when? September? He's going to shut it all down and hold the nation hostage so he can either maintain power or walk away a free man. Bet?

United States v. Nixon proceeded very quickly, as these things go. The tapes were subpoenaed in April of 1974, but Nixon turned over only some edited transcripts and wanted the judge to quash the subpoena. The judge denied the motion and ordered the tapes to be turned over by May 31. Both Nixon and Jaworski appealed the order directly to the Supreme Court, which heard arguments on July 8. The opinion was issued less than three weeks later, on July 24 (Nixon resigned on August 9). That's only three months between the initial issuance of the subpoena and the final Supreme Court decision, which was a Big Fucking Deal (read the case if you want to experience déjà-vu all over again). Spanky can't count on dragging these battles out for another year or so.

Worked for Reagan worked for Bush.

This is what happened to the “roadmap to impeachment”

The 1974 "road map" remained under seal by a federal court until it was released by federal archivists in 2018.

There are no known Republicans who will do what’s right, this isn’t the early 70s.

The proposed articles of impeachment were voted out of the HJC almost entirely along party lines. Even after the "smoking gun" tape came out, conclusively proving Nixon attempted to obstruct justice, the GOPers still didn't want to impeach him.

The AG quit
John Dean caved. The entire investigative staff quit and the AG Richardson resigned because he refused to fire investigator Cox , the new AG Ruckleshaus also refused to fire Cox and resigned.

The news media wasn’t just going along with Nixon.

How many other euphemisms has the NYT used for Trump’s lies now?

CNN had trumps former campaign manager on their nightly panel to discuss the election. He was “fired” from trumps campaign and hired in June 2016 by CNN. He quit Nov 11, 2016.

I don’t see any Republican doing anything close to that, in fact quite the opposite.

You’ll notice both of these news sources were the ones trump specifically called out as “fake!” or the failing nyt!”

Makes me wonder how many progressives went running to these supposed enemies of trump.

Republicans in the executive branch, including the DoJ, have quit, but the politicians are afraid to.

Just about anything that comes out, Trump and the GOP will lie and spin abetted by the MSM (that normalizes the absurb).

What passes for media is by and large grooming and entertainment. Too much is left unsaid, what is said is in an acceptable range to the vested interests in control.

Banks, large corporations, and MI Complex will remain unscathed.

Most lives don't matter.
