The unbelievable connection between the great race horse Secretariat and World War Two.

In the year 1940 Princequillo was bred by an American in France. He was conceived in France, his pregnant dam was shipped to Ireland where he was foaled. His sire remained in France and was killed by German air fire.

Princequillo and his dam were smuggled through a german submarine blockade to America. Princequillo became a very good race horse and even set a track record at Saratoga Race Track. Princequillo went on to become a champion sire and broodmare sire.

Princequillo was the broodmare sire of the great Secretariat.

Magic Johnson, Terry Bradshaw, etc etc all rolled into one magnificent horse.

I'm not a huge fan of horseracing, but watching the 1973 Belmont Stakes is one of the most amazing victories ever.

This is greatness, under any possible definition. I've shown it to my kid too, and they are amazed too.

One of the comments in the video for this says it all: if there were a Mount Rushmore for horses, it would simply be four angles/view of Secretariat!
