after they start flying again, Boeing will have killed American aerospace, and probably South West as well.

They "outsourced" oversight to Boeing and didn't keep tabs on what Boeing was doing. We let contractors do inspections all the time, but from time to time we send in our own unannounced to ensure that they don't get complacent.
