(34,138 posts)Back in the day AOL kept claiming their user numbers increased constantly. It turned out that they never actually took anyone off their user list. Even if you stopped your AOL subscription if you ever accidentally signed back in they would start charging you again. The only way to make sure AOL would not revive your membership was to cancel your credit card - but AOL would still count you as a user!
