(269,157 posts)the women hatred must have links to his mother.
My mother always told us not to date men who had a bad relationship with their mother or sisters.

(3,433 posts)If a boy was repeatedly abused by his mother, he may exhibit extreme devotion to her while simultaneously harboring deep resentment and misogyny towards other women in general. The later man's abusive actions towards women outside of his immediate family act as a surrogate for his abuser.
Observe how men treat women in service positions or female coworkers. My college roommate was emotionally and psychologically abused by his mother. He was always devoted to her but man he was nasty and awful to his girlfriends. I couldn't stand the guy but I saw what she said to him once when she didn't know I was in the other room. She said he was a worthless loser who was just like his father. It was heartbreaking

On the other hand devotion is often more about duty than love.

(15,552 posts)I often wonder if she would have. She and my father had a pretty awful marriage. She died when I was a teenager.
The worst traits weren't as evident when he was a young man, but as he aged the things that were wrong with him were exacerbated by getting older. I was married a very long time. But hey, it's never too late to learn I guess. I have a peaceful and content life now.

(25,881 posts)that women just casually have abortions because the mood strikes them. Sort of like buying a pair of earrings, an impulse item that is meaningless.
One of the ways you can tell that men have never been pregnant is that they buy into this sort of crap. So do some women, who should absolutely know better.
When I was pregnant with my first I had pretty severe morning sickness, enough that I lost weight in the first trimester. I remember thinking, if I have a miscarriage I don't know if I'd be willing to get pregnant again. It was that bad. But I didn't have a miscarriage, went on to have a healthy baby, some four years later had another baby. The morning sickness the second time wasn't as bad, lucky me.

(25,881 posts)even if both pregnancies and birth experiences were the easiest possible, she still gets up the next day and takes care of the brand new baby AND the older child. There is not a man on the planet who could manage that.
Many years ago, when I was a ticket agent at National Airport in Washington DC, our evening flight to somewhere (don't recall the city and it doesn't matter) cancelled, and I was rebooking passengers for the morning flight. One of my passengers was an army officer (can't recall his rank, it probably doesn't matter, but I'm guessing he was a colonel) was based at Ft. Belvoir, which is a bit south of the airport, just beyond Mt. Vernon. The important thing is that the public bus ran there. I rebooked him and told him to take the bus back home and we'd see him in the morning. He refused. Said the bus wasn't safe. Excuse me? I took the public bus every single day between my apartment in Alexandria, VA, to the airport. I worked an afternoon shift so I was going home late at night, 10:30pm, usually later. Sometimes at 1 or 2 am if flights were really delayed.
This is someone I'm supposed to expect will protect me if our nation is invaded or in some sort of national emergency? Really? When this happened I was maybe 25 years old. A woman. A small woman. Who took public transportation at all hours of the day and night. And this man, twice my age, significantly bigger than me, was afraid to take the bus. What is wrong with this picture.
I wound up giving him a taxi voucher. The asshole.
Oh, and have you ever noticed that it's men, not women, who are afraid of shots and needles?
Ohiogal
(32,046 posts)I somehow wonder if he just refused to take the bus because he felt that bus travel was beneath him, so he came up with that lame excuse. Although .... you never know. ..... I've always felt that if you went through the whole pregnancy and delivery thing, you could handle anything .... your body is violated, poked, prodded, exposed, felt up, monitored, etc. etc. until you feel as though it's not even your own anymore. When I had that 36-hour labor, every intern in the whole hospital probably stuck his or her fingers up my you know where to check my dilation. Your last molecule of modesty just gets pitched right out the door. I wondered if they were going to let the janitor walking past my room with a bucket and a mop the opportunity to check my dilation.
For this reason, it infuriates me that men ... who know nothing, NOTHING, about what it's like to go through pregnancy and birth, to even THINK they have the right to make laws forcing us to do so! Maybe other women have had better experiences than I had, but it sure wasn't like it is in the movies. Five minute labor, husband at the wife's side holding her hand, one big push, boom, here's the baby, tears of joy. Uh uh. And, your body just isn't the same once you've done it. It just isn't. No woman should be forced to go through with pregnancy and birth, for whatever reason. I firmly believe that. And for Trump to insinuate that women just decide on a whim to kill a live baby like they would decide to step on a spider, is patently insulting and ridiculous. I surely hope some medical groups or hospital groups push way back loud and long on this horrid man's dangerous lies.
