(51,615 posts)I remembered watching a show about Watergate and he is the guy who stopped the hearings and on live TV called his aide to go and get Butterfield to testify about the taping system he set up for Nixon. Butterfield was in his barber's chair and saw Ervin say something to his aide on TV and 3 seconds later the phone in the barber shop rang and he was sitting in front of the committee within the hour. We need that kind of action NOW!

(16,994 posts)nixon and his henchmen were crooks, but they did eventually bow to the rule of law. We shouldn't think that just because there was an ounce of decency left among nixon's crew, enough for them to finally put their country ahead of themselves, that there is any decency among trump and his henchmen. They have who knows what kind of deals and 'understandings'with putin, arab countries, netanyahu, kim and other dictators and they aren't going to do what nixon did. In general, they don't read the law. Iftheir lawyers read the law, it is only to see if they can twist even clear language to their benefit.
In my opinion, I think we should seize all of them, put them in jail, and release them only if we can find a justification for letting them back among humans.
