I'm in a Rep. District and am thinking of refusing to do my census out of fairness.....

People in Dem districts will be shortchanged due to the question about immigrants. I'm thinking of helping even things out by not being counted in my very red/affluent district. If I'm given a hard time I will say I heard that immigrants cannot fill out the census and my parents are immigrants so I don't think I should fill it out.

Them. They try to do everything by the book, it took years and lots of money to get here. They don't want to get into trouble and risk it all. Their command of English is bad to worse. It could scare them to be asked about citizenship, even though they're here legally. They'd be afraid any noncitizen could be deported, not being able to hear the news...some can't afford t.v.. They're employed, hard working...we're working on getting ours to get drivers' licenses. It hurts to see them targeted.

While numbers from the Census are used to determine political representation, the data is used for so much more than that. Accurate data is vital.

We should all just refuse to answer the question. If we all did that, it will provide a better count for the right reasons while protesting the additional question by ignoring it, there will be too many to follow up on which means they can't do anything about such a protest.
