Republicans have a thousand focus-group-approved memes and a practically infinite number of bots they and their allies can spawn to push those memes. they have a television "news" network devoted solely to Republican infomercials. they have the DOJ ready to investigate their "enemies" as identified by their "news" network.
being worried about how impeachment hearings will look bad for Democrats is like fretting about your toilet backing up when a tsunami's about to wash your neighborhood away.
we have never seen the likes of what's about to go down. people rightly praised Obama, Democrats and Sanders for making strong use of the internet for messaging and fundraising over the last decade. turns out, the Republicans were paying attention after all.
we're already in the ideological fight of our lives, but we're still acting like old protocols and traditions of civility from previous generations will preserve hard-won liberal values.
