It's Republican vs Republican, wife vs husband, in Delaware County
Columbus Dispatch
An ugly, real-life soap opera is playing out in campaign commercials for, of all things, the race for clerk of Delaware County Municipal Court.
Thats because one of the Republican candidates is Kris Jordan, who left his job in the state Senate to become a state representative at the beginning of this year, but now is running for the better-paying county job. And he is involved in a bitter divorce battle with his estranged wife, Delaware County Recorder Melissa Jordan.
A campaign ad for incumbent Clerk Cindy DiNovo features dash-cam footage and audio of Melissa Jordan from July 2011 talking about her legislator husbands drinking and violence. The court case contains her accounts of Kris Jordan shooting a gun into the ground near her while she was carrying their small child, his survivalist-like stockpile of dozens of guns, knives and food and some $200,000 worth of silver, and the time he threw oddly enough a package of frozen bacon at her.
The representative from Ostrander denies his estranged wifes claims that he his hiding some of the silver and guns from her. He says most of what his wife has testified to is completely and utterly false, and in fact, he was the one who suffered the abuse on the night in 2011 when his wife called 911.
