The Fix is in. Barr has said he will redact any persons from his version of the Mueller Report that
are not charged w/anything but he, Barr, stopped Mueller and company before they could write up
any charging statements after they were done with the report. So that stopped Trump from being charged
and that gambit will allow Barr to remove Trump's name from all parts of the report that show him to have
worked with or had knowledge of Russia/Putin's rigging of our elections.
I might be wrong but I smell a skunk under Barr's house. Oh, BTW I don't mean to insult skunks.

Manafort, Prince, Trump Jr., Mercers, Facebook, the media, and all those endless

of our democracy.
"They" will fight tooth and nail to keep the truth from coming out and in my little
pea brain I think one thing they need to keep hidden is just how big the manipulation
of the vote is done by those ERD machines and central tabulators.

(10,887 posts)Still no reliable paper trail in many states.
Ever since "they" pushed through HAVA (help america vote act) in 2002
to help fix the problems of Florida 2000 we have seen a red state shift in
voting that does not match the changing demographics or the wants
of the majority of Americans.

(8,200 posts)The Republican stopped being a legitimate representative of the people as soon as Nixon was swore in as their resident crook. The Republicans will stop at nothing to shield their criminal behavior. I don't trust anyone who belongs to a party that has worked to suppress the vote, prevent minorities and young people from registering to vote. Any minority who votes for them is brain dead. They are the party of racists and evangelical nitwits who believe the end of the world is imminent and are working to bring about it end. Throw in the ultra-wealthy who are consumed with greed and you have the makings for a disaster.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron. H. L. Mencken

(4,614 posts)to be proven wrong and have him be the "truth cavalry" charging over the hill. But I have grave doubts. What we need is an internal leaker to release the entire, unredacted Report to the Congress, the press and the people. Wouldn't hurt if another leaker at IRS dropped Trump's tax returns too.

(58,785 posts)The Republican Party has become intensely corrupt, to the point that its leadership would sacrifice our nearly 250-year-old democratic government itself to keep power. They're embracing the attacks of Russia against our nation, for heavens' sake. Is there still something we don't understand about what they are capable of?
Our democracy is under attack. Good news is that it's standing and is still the fortress from which its defenders are fighting back strong. That's us. We're the defenders of democracy.

(7,142 posts)We need more Maxine Waters and AOC's and Omars, and Frankens, (oh wait) Desperate times call for desperate measures. It's time for subpoenas to fly, time to put impeachment back on the table. The time for making nice has long passed. We need another lion of the Senate, another lion of the House.
The M$M is owned and controlled by the far right, it controls the narrative, we need to force the narrative we want on them because they are complicit with the right.

(58,785 posts)You want more loud, combative rhetoric to rouse those who aren't motivated sufficiently by principle, but when has that ever changed a Republican mind? They love it because angry rhetoric feeds them and their needs, not ours. Trump is actually hoping for war in the streets.
And when hasn't too much of it failed to repel and worry liberal minds? We really are very different from them. We know that expression of anger increases it, deepens divisions, and needs to be used judiciously. I appreciate Rep. Waters' statements, but I can because they're very strongly balanced by the cool strength of her colleagues that resonates far more reassuringly with me.
Maybe combative noise can strengthen those wobblies who need it, raise their spirits briefly, but if so let's save it for closer to the end. We're in the legal trenches now. Too much rousing and shaking verbal fists at the other side will cause it to lose power. The legal processes of democracy that are our battleground are grinding on at their own rates in spite of the noise -- with as much delay as the immensely powerful forces on the right can manage -- and they'd only get disheartened because, by definition, they don't understand how this war is fought, why it's fought this way, and why we'll win it.
Instead, let's plan to get them jumping out of their mental armchairs when they are needed: November 3, 2020.

(7,142 posts)so that means that Democrats need to go after him, need to put a lot of pressure on him. He shows signs that he can crack when he is attacked. We need a full bore, frontal, continual attack on Barr, he is holding back the flood waters of truth.
The M$M will not help us, it is complicit with the far right. We need to force our narrative down their throats.
Where are our myriad of candidates? They need to get into the fight. I plan on voting for the meanest, nastiest, toughest sob who steps forward and shows he/she is not afraid of Trump.

(70,592 posts).... great that they will have to cover "it." But no they keep talking about how Trump
won the election and about how he can be re-elected too.
Is this in the Mueller Report?/DHS, FBI say election systems in all 50 states were targeted in 2016
And is this why "they" are fighting its release so hard?
DHS, FBI say election systems in all 50 states were targeted in 2016.
A joint intelligence bulletin (JIB) has been issued by the Department of Homeland Security and Federal Bureau of Investigation to state and local authorities regarding Russian hacking activities during the 2016 presidential election. While the bulletin contains no new technical information, it is the first official report to confirm that the Russian reconnaissance and hacking efforts in advance of the election went well beyond the 21 states confirmed in previous reports.

(2,599 posts)therefore he's still working within the aegis of that body, part of the Executive Branch. If I'm incorrect, please let me know. He was appointed the Special Prosecutor, not the Independent Prosecutor, which was done away at some point after Nixon resigned. I'm thinking it was scuttled during W's time in office, but I'm probably wrong about that.
Mueller would be necessarily restrained from speaking outright, but he has definitely agreed to come before a Congressional hearing. Again, though, I'm thinking he would be limited in what he could say. It would be better to let him finish his work - if Barr will even let that continue in reality - and then exit the position, where he might be more forthcoming. Frankly, at this point I don't know what to think. Mueller as been a stoic "company man" his entire career. He's the kind of man who abides by the chain of command theory, and he may not ever be forthcoming about what he believes he uncovered, and similarly, his individual investigators may be quelled by DOJ rules from speaking much more than what we were hearing in the last couple of weeks.
