https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/38994279Tiger has said hes known Trump for years and the two played together before the president took office.
Tiger and the president were joined by Dustin Johnson for a round in Jupiter in November 2017. At the time, DJ was ranked No. 1 in the world.
"He's the President of the United States," Woods said. "You have to respect the office. No matter who is in the office, you may like, dislike personality or the politics, but we all must respect the office."

(24,396 posts)Apparently, nothing tRump has said or done since Nov 2017 - the last time he played with tRump - have any effect or meaning to that asshole Woods. This at a time when other professional athletes refuse to have any association with that fucking fascist

(9,710 posts)tell him no? I don't think so. Congtats Tiger, good job.

I guess Woods is more than fine with that.
If the POTUS invites you to the WH to honor your sports championship, do you say no? Apparently, when it comes to tRump, many, MANY athletes say no.
Your point?

(11,686 posts)When your disrespectful piece of crap respects humans we "might think" about respecting him. Since that will never happen you might as well shove some of those golf balls up your ass and crawl under a rock and stay there.
Can you tell that his comment pissed me off?

This right here. Thank you for saying so, moondust!
Too many have sacrificed too much.

(65,212 posts)I'm not making an unsupported claim here. You are.
I'm sure not doing any searches.
It is a FACT that Woods was a teenager throughout the preponderance of Clinton's term.

(3,635 posts)in clawing his way back to the top of the mountain, especially at his age and after all that has happened in his personal life/health etc over the past decade. It's an amazing story of personal triumph - and America loves a comeback story.
I don't see that he's a Trumper, but an apolitical celebrity who doesn't want to offend fans/consumers.
I also don't see what immoral thing he has done, his sex life/infidelity stuff is his concern.

(24,396 posts)speak truth to power because he might pay a price for doing so.
Fuck Woods. Its only golf, fer Chriss sake.

(9,213 posts)I actually admire him for not taking a stand on any issues ever and just playing golf. I'm guessing he just likes playing golf with rich and famous people and doesn't really get too involved in their politics.

(6,930 posts)So apparently he does not share the same sentiments of the rabid Tiger-haters here. Personally, I just do not get it. I am not a golf fan, not a Tiger fan, but obviously that was a hell of a sports come back.
Nothing more, nothing less.

(11,650 posts)I can forgive philandering. His wife seemed to rebound and as long as he wasn't abusive deserves a second chance. People make poor decisions and that's all it is. But the normalizing of the orange douchebag is not forgivable. He's in a position where he could make a statement and perhaps even influence people's opinions, but he chooses to "respect the office" and to cater to that MAGA POS by normalizing him with golf games. Fuck that. The officeholder has no self-respect.
