I don't like the cheating on his wife and girlfriend stuff, but who he plays golf with is a minor issue.

As my first post, after a decade of lurking, I would like to make an observation that may be positive.
Look at the gallery, white folks in the south.
And the best they could hope for is a mixed race black man to win the most difficult golf tournament in America.
I had tears in my eyes.
Perhaps some things we all agree on...
Hope so.

...after all the injuries and surgeries...he seemed done.

I watched Tiger a lot during his glory days, and until he took off his cap and exposed his bald spots, I thought I had been watching footage from his glory days! I doubt there's time for him to return to being good enough to automatically demoralize the field; but then again, I doubted he'd ever win another major. My heartiest congratulations, Tiger -- and try rubbing a little Jamaican black castor oil on those bald spots!

That was one of Tiger's strategies earlier in his career. He was a determined athlete who took physical training in the sport to another level. While there were rumors that he might have been doping, nothing was ever charged or proven. Regardless, many of the other players were simply intimidated by Tiger's Superman image.

In the interim, many of the younger players began physical training and undergoing sophisticated swing analysis resulting in significant improvements in their golf games. Additionally, some of them began playing on the Tour after Tiger's crash and burn and they weren't intimidated like earlier players had been. In their experience, Tiger wasn't really a threat.

Until now.

I've always admired his steely-eyed intensity and profound mechanics. I hope he keeps going and I expect he'll be a force to contend with in next month's PGA Championship.

I agree with you that it's a bit odd to see his bald spots! And while I hate emojis, yours is nevertheless quite fun.
