So, the WH has had the opportunity to respond quickly when a redacted report is released this week. whow. just whow.
And the Committee has not been briefed. damn.
The White House has been briefed on the Mueller report and "there is significant concern on the president's team about what will be in this report," and "what worries them most is what Don McGahn told the special counsel," @jonkarl reports on @ThisWeekABC https://abcn.ws/2VyOgpQ

(32,013 posts)Barr can delegate legal staff to determine what should be redacted. Once Mueller has delivered the report to Barr it is up to Barr to determine what to do with it. So there is no law broken. If someone says a law was broken they should be able to say which one it was.

He grovelled, threw himself at Mueller's feet, clutched Mueller's knees like a medieval supplicant.
Bad optics.

I have a vague memory of another quote from him: "They hate me, they really f en hate me."
Also one where Sater said he and tRump would die in prison.

(5,269 posts)Even Barr's whitewashing summary admitted that Trump had not been cleared by Mueller of obstruction. McGahn undoubtedly testified that on several occasions Trump ordered Mueller to be fired and investigation to be shut down, but was refused and talked down by McGahn and other WH lawyers who knew that would be considered obstruction. WH is concerned because when Congress finds out more about details of McGahn's testimony, Congress could have grounds for impeachment on the attempted obstruction.

(113,063 posts)testimony greater scrutiny in a classic misdirection attempt. I dont trust ANY narrative that originates from this WH.
Especially since Karl did not accurately state Barr's very lawyerly statement about collusion - Barr stated that Mueller was not able to establish coordination between the Trump campaign and the Russian government and in a footnote (#1) stated coordination requires finding an agreement between campaign and Russian government). Check out the actual letter!

(90,344 posts)... Putin wouldn't act so overtly as to sign a contract.
Barr is a hack, a very very very dangerous hack.
I'm not giving the "they spied on Trump and I can't prove it" slow talker Barr the benefit of the doubt.

(169 posts)He knew that would never be the case in any espionage situation! He started his career in the CIA so he was well aware of everything he has been doing to help spin this for Trump.

(58,660 posts)For a report that "totally exonerates Trump" they are spending a lot of time and energy trying to bury it and "debunk" it before it is even released.
Not to be too much of a cynic, but that sounds awfully suspicious to me.

(31,261 posts)Why wouldn't they give the full report to any press agency that wants it if it completely or even partially exonerated Trump?
