After Nancy Pelosi, who?

Disclaimer: I support her as speaker for as long as she wishes to serve. If I had my wish, she's be speaker for life.

So, with my bias made clear, who do you think should succeed her? And if you care to, why?

I have nothing against her, but if she's Speaker in January 2023, then we're in big trouble in November 2024. I like her but not at the expense of the Party.

That's not rhetorical. The question is serious. Why should I go away because YOU said so?

a) read the OP disclaimer.

b) Why should I go away?

And you're factually wrong. She's been Speaker two years and three months.

beat trump in 2020, keeping the House in 2020 and trying to take the Senate in 2020.

And she's been Speaker this time for 3 months.

It seems that she is quietly building support among democrats, as is Jeffries.

But Speaker Pelosi knows what she is doing in these troubled times. She is the one that we need guiding us.

Those would be Jerry Nadler and Adam Schiff.

I rather suspect that Pelosi is seriously looking at possible successors for later on. She is known for playing the long game. I've never met Cheri Bustos in person, though I've chatted with her on the phone. She is personable, bright and hard-working, though I don't know if she has the killer instinct a good Speaker needs to have hidden just behind the obligatory smile.

Speaker Pelosi has the constitution of a woman decades younger than her years.

I hope she serves for many more years. Our job is to give her a Democratic House for term after term.

She has shown herself to be a hard worker, she works well across the spectrum of the Democratic caucus and, contrary to what some think here, the camps to teach people to run for office didn't begin after il douche; in 2014 she had started training people to run for local offices in western Illinois.
She's my congressional representative.
Oh, and she actually weeds into areas of her district where she isn't that popular to meet with people who may not like her/her policies

but I support Bustos financially and go to some of her events. She is indeed a hard worker. Dick Durbin has mentored her since she was a youngster babysitting for his children.
