(25,471 posts)Ask a dozen people and you'll get a dozen different answers. The Constitution is intentionally vague on the matter. It's up to the House to determine what constitutes an impeachable offense.

(18,124 posts)There was also a very good article in the Atlantic a couple of months ago about the importance of starting impeachment proceedings, but it was more of an essay rather than a list of impeachable offenses.
Of course, we'll never know how the public and the Republican senators would react to impeachment unless the House begins hearings. In a formal hearing, the case could be made in an organized and logical manner rather than listening to a bunch of partisan pundits.

Please do not underestimate of that info..
...Yes..you are correct, starting the proceedings, even if they are not called, "impeachment hearings" is the most important thing...and guess what?...The hearings have been started, and are continuing. Our side is very strong in those hearings. We will see. Trump is not that sharp. (even if he thinks so).. Time will tell.

Trump has never had positive approval ratings, and I doubt they'd go up if a strong case were presented.
...trump is ever impeached, it will say more about the House than him...
...the Constitution has a remedy for a corrupt, destructive and incompetent president...
...whether impeachment would succeed or not should not deter the House from doing it's Constitutional job to protect and save harmless the United States and it's citizens from a corrupt, destructive and incompetent president...
