House Oversight Committee Chair Elijah Cummings (D-MD) is planning to send a subpoena to Mazars USA accounting firm for detailed information on PresidentTrump’s financial history.

Cummings wrote in an April 12 memo to members of his committee that he planned on issuing the subpoena within the next 48 hours.

He sent a letter requesting the information from Mazars in March. The firm said that it would comply with a subpoena, according to a statement from Cummings earlier this month.

It promises they will not divulge the content and any communications. If it's like most I've seen, it also includes a disclaimer that, in effect, says "but if we subpoenaed we're going to comply".

IF they responded to the letter with the information they would technically be in violation of their confidentiality agreement with the trump organizations and individuals. But...now that they're responding to a subpoena...it's all good man.

In the grand scheme of things, I don't think we want our professionals (doctors, lawyers, accountants, financial folks) just turning chit over because someone sent a letter. Doesn't matter to me that the topic here are trump's taxes. He deserves all of the confidentiality protections that the rest of Americans do (and want to to continue to) enjoy. And as Rep Neal wants to ensure, let's make sure he's not getting any special treatment.

They would comply if the y received a friendly subpoena . That would make it legal.
