General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region Forumsthe house needs to be more aggressive regarding donald fraud's agents of cover-up.
people like barr and mnuchin are blatantly covering up for donald fraud.
they are blatantly obstructing congressional investigations and inquiries.
they are clearly defying established laws.
we need to do more than threaten subpoenas.
we need to do more than actually issue subpoenas.
we need to launch further investigations into these people.
we need to get special counsels going to investigate them.
we need to impeach them (not talking about impeaching donald fraud, but impeaching his lieutenants who defy the house and the law).
i know the usual argument is that hey, we're doing fin with donald fraud stuck in the 40's in terms of approval, we'll win in 2020 if we don't overplay out hand.
yeah, well, that's what we all thought in 2016....

(868 posts)The Presidency should immediately, IF NOT SOONER, pass to Mrs. Pelosi while Trump, Pence, Barr, Nunes, McConnell, and every other supporter of this attempt coupe, shall await trial in Guantanamo, for years if not decades.
This Crime Against Humanity is only different in that Hitler's subjugation of Germany led to the death (murder) of millions whereas we, the United States of America, is on the verge of destruction at their hands.

(52,257 posts)one could distantly imagine enough republicans agreeing to oust both donald fraud and pence, but why on earth would they ever agree to kick them both out at the same time?
they'd take an hour in between to appoint someone the new veep and we'd have an unelected, but republican, president the way we were stuck with ford for a couple years.
yeah, democrats could refuse to confirm a new veep, but then republicans would really never agree to kick them both out.

Faux pas
(14,681 posts)if our peeps in congress are just putting on a show. They need to sac up and quit dancing with the other side.
their order of priority is roughly:
-keep their own job
-keep a democratic majority in 2020
-get a democratic white house in 2020
-do what's right in the interests of justice
i think there's a big fear, both in congress and on du, of democrats "overplaying their hand".
are just enabling hump and his minions by not playing hardball instead of table tennis. I'm PISSED.

(52,257 posts)it's really crazy what they let them say without consequence even when appearing before congress.
Faux pas
(14,681 posts)we're getting ready to push send on the subpoena button, we aren't getting Mueller in here asap, we're not doing anything but dithering around. They need to be as aggressive as the other assholes are. Someone should volunteer to be the target to keep the schmucks off guard and make them play DEFENSE.

(14,174 posts)Some Democrats are still living in the 90's. America has moved on. For better or worse, ... But yes it's for worse. It is a more reactionary world. A world where, in the age of social media the message IS the medium. It's not so much anymore about dotting your i's and crossing your T's worrying about some future moment when you can crow about how straight and narrow you behaved.
It's about attacking first, using flimsy circumstantial evidence, or even none at all. Whatever puts them on the defensive rather than yourself. And why not when we have SO much material to work from.
Sad that Avenatti is nuetered now. But he's an example of what works. Exaggerate the danger, the ineptitude, the cowardice, if that's even possible.

(14,681 posts)The Dems are living in the 90's and the thugs are living in the 1890's. I'll be 70 this month and I'm looking forward to the youngsters taking over and moving us forward. It won't happen until they take the hump DOWN.

(52,257 posts)from a political perspective, we don't want to peak too soon.
we don't want them to have time to recover from bad news before the election.
that means really bad stuff needs to come out next summer, or better yet, october.
republicans have a propaganda network that helps them sustain high levels of outrage and furor 24/7; we need actual news for even a brief bump.
