And now a reading from the Book of He Tried It.

Rep. Maxine Waters, chair of House Financial Services Committee and the person who travels the globe during Daylight Savings Time, reclaiming the lost hour like a temporal Santa Claus, had another run-in with Treasury Secretary and part-time robber baron, Steve Mnuchin. Much like their previous encounters, it went so poorly for the Secretary that sources say he is currently holed up in the basement of the Mint trying to erase his name from every dollar so he can start a new life free from shame....

Steve Mnuchin does not realize that he has checked into the Hotel California, situated right in the middle of the state's 43rd district, which has been represented since 2013 by one Maxine Waters. He can check out any time he wants but he can never leave.

Nevertheless, the Treasury Secretary clearly must have mistaken the House Financial Services Committee for the ballpit at McDonald's because he continued to act like it was playtime. He responded to Waters that if she wanted to keep him there and "grill" him, he would cancel his "important meeting" (rolling around on a pile of $100 bills like Demi Moore in Indecent Proposal). He warned however, "I will not be back here. I will be very clear. If that's the way you'd like to have this relationship."...

The look from Rep. Maxine Waters could power the Eastern Seaboard. This is a true fact: there is an entire 45-page section of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal devoted to the energy capabilities of Waters' incandescent incredulity. Honey, who needs a turbine when Maxine Waters is out here decimating also-rans with a glance?!

Steven Mnuchin really tried it with this backtalk and Maxine Waters immediately transformed into Jean Grey as the Phoenix. The entire Capitol went on high alert. Trump called up The Sentinels.

Honest question: does Steve Mnuchin actually think he's time enough for Maxine Waters because, and I repeat, yikes. How are you going to be time enough for anybody when you're sitting in front of the Regina of Reclaimed Time? The General of Gavels! How?!

6. Laugh out loud funny. Mnuchin looks like he won't know what hit him.

He kept demanding that she "dismiss" him, which I knew in my bones was a verbal trick so that he could refuse to return on the grounds she had dismissed his case. It was quite the standoff, and he didn't come off very well, did he?

Our up and coming young Dems are good, but the best of our old experienced Dems achieve awesomeness.

But he got stage fright in front of Waters, he was scared. He blew the line! He mumbled something about "gravel" and then trailed off.

Another Trump-trained actor. Trump thinks they can hide the damage by being rehearsed actors, when in fact, he Trump Troupe are all terrible actors! It's like a bad High School play.

Waters scarred Mnuchin so much he forgot his Trump-written snark line. Amateurs.

Push every rule to the breaking point. If there's no rule, just precedent, then ignore it. Waste time, duck questions, run out the clock. Bully, dare the Dem to make them.

Like Trump with his Tax Returns. That was just precedent. There was no law, so fuck it. Did he pay a consequence? Nope.

The GOP decided long ago to play smash-mouth, to dispense with decorum, ethics, and "regular order", and the Dems haven't countered, despite these hosannas for Rep. Waters.

when he lived in Calif. (43rd District?) where M.Walters is a Representative. Mnuchin had a small bank lending out sub-prime mortgages. When people his bank swindled went under, Mnuchin bought out their homes and made himself a bundle of money.
He should be in jail, not Treasury Sec'y in the other big crook, Trump's cabinet. M. Walters must know all about Munchkin's criminal background being the Representative of his former resident.
