'This puts me in danger': Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blames GOP groups for death threats

OK Finally.. MY RANT !!!!!!!!!!

EVERY SINGLE Democratic politician should be out yelling about this shit going on-- EVERY ONE.. from the lowest town council member to the highest elected officials... Yelling about the threats, Fox calling Dems terrorists, right wing assholes including the schmuck in the white house threatening people...

Yelling about the lies being spread everywhere. Yelling about the coup that is taking place.. the intentional destruction of our government and our country..


And WE HERE ALSO need to step up,(not that we don;t, but) WE need to get in our reps faces.. Oh, we have interesting posts like -

WASHINGTON – Freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez denounced a conservative group on Twitter on Wednesday after it labeled her as a "domestic terrorist," saying similar rhetoric consistently leads to a spike in threats against her life.

Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat representing New York who has become both a social media star and a favorite target for Republicans, was criticizing a fundraising email sent out by the Ohio College Republican Federation with the subject line: "AOC is a domestic terrorist."

The email, which was posted by Dave Levinthal, a politics editor at The Center for Public Integrity, included that the conservative group was asking for donations to "stop the brainwashing" that has college students thinking that Ocasio-Cortez is a "role model"

"This puts me in danger every time. Almost every time this uncalled for rhetoric gets blasted by conserv. grps, we get a spike in death threats to refer to Capitol Police," Ocasio-Cortez posted on Twitter. "Multiple ppl have been arrested trying to harm me, Ilhan, & others. @GOP, what’s it going to take to stop?".

1. NOTHING will stop them...

Did anything change after JFK / RFK / MLK / Malcolm were all assassinated with 5 years of each other 50 years ago? Nope...

Did anything change after any of the mass shootings in the past 10 years? Nope...

Disabuse yourself of the notion that we live in a functioning representative republic...since 2000, the Republican Party has "won" the popular vote for President of the USA exactly ONCE (2004) and even then under some very disturbing irregularities in Ohio.

2000 - Florida recount stopped by SCOTUS packed with GOP nominees
2004 - Ohio irregularities allowed Bush to survive and take a second term
2008 - Obama ran up the scoreboard too much to have it stolen (free-falling crash of economy was HUGE)
2012 - Obama survived, but the dirty tricks were in and expected to work (witness Fox News election night)
2016 - Clinton rolls up nearly 3 million vote lead and "loses" because of roughly 80,000 votes across 3 historically democratic strong holds (PA, MI, WI)

Now since the advent of Trump, the law is meaningless, the SCOTUS is packed for 30 years and the nation is trafficking in truly evil shit (caging children and immigrants, splitting up families with no way to reunite them EVER, giving away tax cuts to Billionaires and corporations while squeezing the life out of the middle and lower classes, etc...).

The game has been over more than 40 years...the single greatest political accomplishment of the last 40 years - Obamacare passage - has been under constant siege ever since and is in danger of being lost again. Even THAT "win" came about only because single payer options wee thrown out of the negotiations on the first day and a warmed over GOP-lite policy was used as the backbone. We won some important concessions (briefly) and now stand on the cusp of again losing even that...

This current government is over stuffed with millionaires willing to kill the poor and middle classes to retain a comfortable position as the lapdogs of the true rulers - the billionaire class. Unless and until money is removed from politics, we LOST and the other side is only continuing to run up the score...

And we have, relatively recently, the example of Gabby Giffords. After Palin put out her "target and cross" ad, it just happened that Giffords was shot by a violent right winger.

And Palin insisted that she never intended for anyone to take her ad literally.

And the media pretended to believe her.

And we have the recent example of Ilhan Omar.
