He has been taken into custody at a central London police station where he will remain, before being presented before Westminster Magistrates' Court as soon as is possible.

In a sovereign decision Ecuador withdrew the asylum status to Julian Assange after his repeated violations to international conventions and daily-life protocols.

Looks like it is indeed

Gore Vidal's "History of the National Security State"

https://www.amazon.com/Vidal-History-National-Security-State/dp/1494887991/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1554986123&sr=8-43

As described:

History of the National Security State & Vidal on America, TRNN Senior Editor Paul Jay and the acclaimed essayist, screenwriter and novelist Gore Vidal discuss the historical events that led to the establishment of the massive military-industrial-security complex and the political culture that gave us the “Imperial Presidency.”

Still very very strange that is what Assange wanted to flash as he was dragged out of the Ecuadorian Embassy into the Police Wagon by Scotland Yard....

It looks a bit staged with the book, doesn't it? "Excuse me officer, I must carry this book with the cover showing while you arrest me..."

Damn, I thought that would have been almost too poetic.

In both giving him asylum and now being done with it. While I have no appreciation for Assange I do feel there were reasons to give him asylum considering what he has done. But at the end of the day he needs to answer for his actions. I really think Ecuador has done well here throughout.
