This is all so damn ridiculous

My disgust level is at 11.

Crimes in clear sight yet we're looking at years before anything is done, if ever.

This country is going to Hell and we have no shortage of hand ringers.

We can't even get some on our side to call him a fucking liar.

Sorry but my hope level is ebbing fast.

The M.O. of a rising autocracy is to wear down the good people so they give up.

We rise. We ride.

I've lost the things that sustained my hope, and I'm not sure where to place my hope now. It's like there's nothing to grab onto. I've never felt so disillusioned. I've always been strong, the glass half-full person who believes in the dream of a better world. I'm trying not to fall into despair. Others need me to be strong. I WILL find my footing again, but right now, I'm in free-fall.

Seems we have been shocked and disillusioned to the point where we need a shot of encouragment.

installed a Democratic Congress. That's a step in the right direction. And there are Congressional Democrats who are done with bullshit. Maxine Waters vs cry baby Mnuchin (Waaaaa! You're being mean. My crooked Repuke friends always kissed my ass....) was a thing of beauty. That woman takes no prisoners.

I will admit. I was convinced there could never be a worse "President" than GWB, an illegitimate know nothing boob who was the front man for the Cheney criminal cabal. Sorry to say I was wrong.

What I find most alarming is that millions of our fellow citizens willingly pulled the lever for a narcissistic, rascist, misogynistic, Muslim hating, disability mocking, genital grabbing serial adulterer completely devoid of morals and unable to tell the truth about anything....and made the idiot President.

Unfortunately, the founding fathers did not envision the current scenario. They provided a mechanism for the impeachment and removal from office of a corrupt President, never considering that an equally corrupt Congress would protect a criminal at all costs. So that's where we're at.

Fortunately, the election to remove the orange turd is coming next year. And while it can't come soon enough, we do have an opportunity to take back the country and restore sone semblance of sanity. Best to focus on that while the Democrats in Congress keep up the pressure on Trump and his minions. I, for one, will not be happy until I see him frogmarched into prison, but baring that, I want to see him humiliated at the polls and am hoping that enough voters learned their lesson to not make the same stupid mistake twice.

Wake me up when our Democratic congresspeople start acting like A- holes just like the Republicans. Stop with the "proper" way of acting. These scumbags scoff at decency. We have to fight fire with fire, at least until this country returns to some level of normalcy.

We have to collectively acknowledge that this is an enemy attack -- an act of war -- and we need to fight back.

Who wants to lose a war because we were observing a technicality?

Fuck, who wants fascist rule even if it HAD BEEN properly voted in?

so residents could post about town or national politics. It was started by a well-known townie, who, as it happens, is quite the MAGAT. Apparently "like attracts like" because 95% of the posts are very pro-tRump. It was a real eye-opener for me. I live in a small New England town in a heavily Democratic area, and to see this level of hatred and vitriol - all in the guise of supporting the POTUS - was stunning.

It worries me. To be out and about in this area, you wouldn't realize there is this undercurrent of tRump supporters. One rarely hears favorable comment about him or his administration. I'm wondering if it's the anonymity of Facebook that allows this hatred to come forward. My major concern, however, is the realization that there's a whole lot of "them" out there, and that 2020 may be much more difficult for us than anticipated. They hide their hatred well when they want to.

My family dodged the proverbial bullet, however, for which I'll be eternally grateful. About 12 years ago, my eldest son was engaged to this MAGAT's daughter, and as luck would have it, the engagement went bust. We had no idea of their political leanings at the time...to think that we would have been sitting across the aisle from these creatures - be still, my heart! There definitely was a Democratic angel sitting on our shoulders!
